Wake effect is significant for wind farms performance, especially for large-scale projects. Not only the energy yield production would be decreased but also the turbines loads would be affected due to turbulence intensity increase caused by wake effect. However current wake models have limitation on accurate simulation against reality. This study uses a real case with measurement data to compare with various wake models, in order to calculate the bias from different models, and try to illustrate certain rules. The uniq methodology inspires innovative ways to validate and optimize wake models. Any wind resource engineers, R&D model developers, wind farm developers and operaters may find something helpful out of this study.
