Lisa Asbreuk is corporate / commercial energy law lawyer practicing in renewable energy across Canada for 17 years. She worked at McCarthy Tetrault LLP in the Toronto and Calgary offices, and as in-house legal counsel at ENMAX, before returning to private practice in Ontario in a decision to help serve CCPCs participating in Canada's clean energy transition.
She now leads a business law team at law firm in SE Ontario, providing energy law advice to private companies, private equity investors, landowners, building owners, and municipalities on how to navigate, attract, host, and particpate in good projects.
Lisa has dedicated her career to helping support clean energy, and facilitate opportunities for individuals and businesses to be involved, and to see projects as providing economic development, as supporting their values, and as enabling other priorities for their farm or business. She has a background in agriculture and advising business owners, and will assist with project development, siting, supply chain contracting, construction, trades, and services as they interact with multinational companies in our sector. She is on the front lines of project design and development work, often in the field, and able to provide real time help and advice at critical stages of a project. She is a go-to person for landowners, suppliers, contractors, and municpalities interacting with our industry and wanting a practical approach to collaboration and cooperation. LIsa has played a role in many projects operating across Canada today.
Lisa is on the Board of Directors of CANREA as a BTM nominee.
