Executive Director
Relay Education
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Wesley Normington is the Executive Director of Relay Education. He has worked in education, skills training and capacity building around the world for 20 years. In his current position, he leads a dynamic team at Relay – a Canadian charity offering renewable energy education, green job skills training and sustainable career awareness programs. In 2024, more than 23,000 youth from across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Barbados and Austria have participated in Relay Education programs. At the same time, Relay launched the Green Skills Academy – offering job skill straining in wind, solar and sustainable agriculture.
Wesley has dedicated his career to working for initiatives in the non-profit sector that inspire him. This has led to his involvement in mentorship programs for at-risk youth, human rights media training in Africa and post-disaster water purification and emergency medical programs. Since working in international disaster relief and seeing the effects of climate change first hand, Wesley has since been passionate about working with youth and communities to build a 100% renewable energy future.
Wesley also sits on the board for WindShare Co-operative, which has pioneered community wind power in Canada and developed and built the first urban wind project in North America.
