    Andrew is the Managing Director and Head of the Renewable Energy Branch at NRSI with more than 19 years of experience working on the environmental monitoring and assessment of more than 300 renewable energy projects across Canada. He has supervised and/or contributed significantly to the completion of environmental assessments submissions for proposed wind generating facilities across Canada, including Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and New Brunswick. He routinely works closely with federal, provincial, and regional regulatory staff during the monitoring process, and works closely with these agencies to develop scientifically defensible monitoring programs based on specific site characteristics. He uses the environmental characterization reports to address potential impacts of proposed facilities and works closely with the developers to establish a site-specific mitigation strategy, post-construction monitoring program, and an adaptive management strategy if negative effects are encountered. Andrew has also managed postconstruction monitoring at more than 60 operational facilities across Canada, producing detailed reports on the estimated impact on bird and bat populations and working with operators and regulatory staff to develop appropriate mitigation strategies, when appliccable..
