Manuel Plamondon-Ratté joined WSP in 2015 as an engineering intern before obtaining his diploma in civil engineering in 2016.
From preliminary study to detailed engineering, he has actively participated in the civil and structural aspect of technical renewable projects. Over the years he performed analyses, calculations, designs, reports and provided technical assistance in the field during the construction phase. Manuel also has experience in the design of small and medium-sized concrete dams, walls, and sheet piles. All of these projects have enabled him to develop significant expertise in unconventional reinforced concrete and steel structures.
The leadership he has shown over the years lead him to play an active role in the renewable energy market by being the National Market Lead – Wind & Discipline Manager - Structural. Currently, Manuel leads a team of 12 engineers, all dedicated to renewable energy projects. Manuel is also a very effective project manager by overseeing dozens of different projects, per year, all over Canada.
He also has high knowledge in computer-aided structural modelling and uses software such as Advance Design America and ANSYS Mechanical to perform vector and finite element analyses in 2D and 3D.
