Maxime Charron is the President of LeadingAhead Energy, a vendor-agnostic consulting company based in Vancouver, BC, that provides EV charging infrastructure solutions. Maxime works with property and portfolio managers across Canada and the United States, and he was recently named one of Business in Vancouver’s 40 Under 40.
A graduate of BCIT’s Sustainable Business program, Max founded LeadingAhead Energy in 2017 when electric cars were a rarity. He’s grown his company to twelve employees all without any outside investment. His clients include: RioCan REIT, First Capital REIT, Wesgroup, Grosvenor America, Vinfast, JLL, Ivanhoe Cambridge, LaFarge, and Harbour Air, the world’s largest seaplane company, for whom he is installing a floating dock charger for their upcoming electric fleet.
In the spring of 2024, Max was invited to speak at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)’s e-mobility roundtable with key government and multinational stakeholders. He was also invited to attend the inaugural Business and Philanthropy Climate Forum at the United Nations Climate Conference in Dubai. During the pandemic, Max was invited to speak in front of the House of Commons regarding the carbon credit programs in Canada. He has also been a guest on the podcasts Vancouver Commercial Real Estate, Change Anxiety and Plugged-In, and he is a contributor for the magazine and online publication, Electric Autonomy. Max has also been a speaker at the annual Electric Mobility Canada conference, the Bellevue Rotary Club, Fully-Charged LIVE, the Energy Disruptors Conference, the Canada Parking Association Conference & Trade show and the BUILDEX Vancouver conference.
